Neighborhoods

When Macungie Township was formed in 1743 it was part of Bucks County and included the present day Upper and Lower Macungie Townships and the Boroughs of Alburtis and Macungie. The population at that time was about 650 inhabitants. Macungie became part of Lehigh County when it was formed in 1810, at which time population was 2,420. Macungie Township was divided into Upper and Lower in 1832.
