Center Harbor was incorporated in 1797 from New Hampton. The village of Center Harbor is located on Lake Winnipesaukee and commands a charming view of the lake and neighboring hills. The name derives from the fact that the harbor is between (in the center) of Moultonborough harbor to the east, and Meredith harbor to the west.
