Neighborhoods

The first settlers in this region were Dutch who came to the area about 3 miles north of what became Red Hook Village, between 1713 and 1727. The name is said to have been given the region by early Dutch navigators, who saw a hillside covered with red berries near Tivoli, and called the place Roode Hoeck.
