TOWNS

Ormsby County was established in 1861 and name for Major William M. Ormsby [1814-1860], a native of Greenville, PA. In 1969 Ormsby County and Carson City merged to form the Consolidated Municipality of Carson City. It is the capital of the State of Nevada. [see: Carson City]
