The Routt County Courthouse is located at 522 Lincoln Avenue, Steamboat Springs, CO 80477; phone: 970‑879‑0108.

Routt County was created from part of Grand County in 1877. It is named for John L. Routt [1826‑1907], a politician whose offices included Mayor of Denver, Governor of the Colorado Territory, and 1st Governor of the State of Colorado.
