Pickering Hunt Estates
|
Beginnings [1] Pickering Hunt Estates (also known as Pickering Estates) is a planned community of 64 custom and semi-custom homes in West Pikeland Township at the junction of Route 118 and Davis Road, two miles from the Downingtown Interchange of the Pennsylvania Turnpike ... was started in 1962 by Fred V. Schubert, who had built a 13 home development at Ship Estates the previous year. He selected the name because the Pickering Hunt Club used to go fox hunting with hounds in this section. The homes today range from approximately 2,100-2,600 sq. ft. with a median of approximately 2,400 sq. ft. Median lot size is approximately four-fifths of an acre. Access to the Pickering Hunt Estates neighborhood is from Uwchlan Avenue Hunt Club Lane or Davis Road.
