Birches West

Birches West is a residential subdivision of detached singles, townhomes, and semi-attached twins built primaily during the 1970s and 1980s. Median lot size for the detached singles is approximately 1/5th of an acre. Median interior living space is approximately 1,800 sq. ft. A typical single has 3 to 4 bedrooms and 1 to 2-1/2 baths. Most have 1 or 2 car attached garages; about half have full basements. Singles are located mainly on Altair Drive, Canis Court, Capella Road, Polaris Road and Regulus Drive. Townhomes are approximately 1,600 sq. ft with 3 bedrooms, 1-1/2 to 2-1/2 baths and no basements; approximately half of the townhomes have a 1-car attached garage. Twins range from about 1,200 to 1,500 sq. ft. of interior living space, having 2 to 3 bedrooms with 1 to 1-1/2 baths; no basements. Less than 20% of the twins have a 1-car, attached garage.

Access to the Birches West neighborhood is from Hurfville-Cross Keys Road onto Regulus Drive or Altair Drive.
