Hamtramck City

Hamtramck City Hall is located at 3401 Evaline Street, Hamtramck, MI 48212; phone: 313-876-7700.

Hamtramck incorporated as a village in 1891 to protect its residents from annexation by the City of Detroit. The southern portion of the city had 2 railroad lines across it and business owners hoped to take economic advantage through the organization.

In early 2016, Hamtramck is being reported to be the first U.S. city (approximately 22,000) whose resident majority are of Muslim faiths.
