The Sullivan County Courthouse is located at 100 Courthouse Square, Sullivan, IN 47882; phone: 812-268-4657.

The area that would become Sullivan county was first settled by a group of Shakers circa 1810. The county was established in 1817 and named for Daniel Sullivan [1754-1790] who served as a scout and a spy during the American Revolutionary War.
