TOWNS
Yolo is one of the original counties created when California achieved statehood in 1850. Fremont, the only organized town in the county at that time, became the first county seat. Over the first decade, the county seat was moved (sometimes back and forth) among several towns until finding its permanent location, Woodland, in 1860.
