Bywood is a residential neighborhood of semi-detached (twins) and townhomes. Townhomes date from circa 1910 through 1955 with a median age circa 1940; median interior living space is approximately 1,200 sq. ft. Twins were built from the 1920s through the 1950s with a median age circa 1937; interior living space ranges from approximately 1,100 to 1,800 sq. ft.

Bywood lies south of the intersection of Garrett Road and Market Street/West Chester Pike (Route 3).
