Birchwood Lakes is a residential subdivision built primarilty during the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. Median age is ca. 1960. Median lot size is approximately 1/3rd of an acre. Median interior living space is approximately 2,400 sq. ft. Homes have 3 to 5 bedrooms and 1-1/2 to 4-1/2 baths. About half of the homes have full basements; about 80 percent have 1 or 2 car attached garages.

Access to the Birchwood Lakes neighborhood is from Jackson Road onto North Lakeside Drive West or North Lakeside Drive East.
