The Braxton County Courthouse is located at 300 Main Street, Sutton, WV 26601; phone: 304-765-2833.

Braxton County was formed in 1836 and named after Carter Braxton, a signer of the Declaration of Independence. The first court was held in the home of John D. Sutton. [1]
