Sullivan Township was formed in the year 1816, take from Covington Township. It is situated upon high table lands facing the Tioga valley on the west and the Sugar Creek valley of Bradford County and the upper waters of the Tioga River on the east. It was named in honor of General John Sullivan of revolutionary fame. [1]
