Originally named Pigeontown, the name of this historic village was changed to Blue Bell in 1840. Centered around the Blue Bell Inn at the intersection of what is now Penllyn Blue Bell Pike and Skippack Pike (Route 73). Few remnants remain; an occasional name commemorating the village (Blue Bell Inn [CA. 1743], Village Circle, and a number of varied businesses and modern subdivisions.)
