Mansfield Square [†] is on Old York Road just off Route 206 in the northern part of the township. This village was originally called Rising Sun, again after a tavern of the same name. Rising Sun Tavern was one of several stops along the stagecoach road between New York and Philadelphia. The name was changed around 1849 to Mansfield Square.
