Fergus County, Montana

Fergus was established in 1885 from parts of Chouteau and Meagher counties.It is named for James Fergus, a Meafher County representative who sponsored the bill for separation. The counties original 7,000+ square miles were subsequently divided into all or parts of 4 additional counties.
