Forrest County, Mississippi

TOWNS

The Forrest County Courthouse is located at 641 Main Street, Hattiesburg, MS 39401; phone: 601-545-6000.

Forrest County was created in 1908 from a portion of Perry County. Like numerous other counties created in South Mississippi, Forrest County owed its existence primarily to the growth in industry and population resulting from the railroad and lumber boom in the Piney Woods of South Mississippi.
