The Whitley County Courthouse is located at 200 Main Street, Williamsburg, KY 40769; phone: 606-549.6004.

Whitley was established in 1818 from part of Knox County. It is named for Colonel William Whitley [1749-1813], a Kentucky pioneer and veteran of the War of 1812.
