Organized in 1855, Cerro Gordo County [1] is governed by a three-member board, each board member elected by citizens in one of the three districts. Board members serve overlapping four-year terms, with elections held every two years. The Board is the legislative body of the County, which annually adopts a budget and establishes tax rates to support County programs.
