Barren Hill

School District: Colonial

Settled by Germans, this area developed in the early 1700s, because of its close proximity to Germantown and Ridge Pikes. The origin of the name is obscure. Some references claim that it was a corruption of Barn Hill, others cite the sheer desolation of this area. [1]
