Altitude 2,000 ft. Situated on Mason and Dixon line. Popular summer resort. Cottages of all sizes and types for lease from June 1 to October 1. Being only 70 miles from Washington, D. C., members of the diplomatic corps, jurists, etc., establish summer homes here. Monterey, Charmian, and Buena Vista Spring are in the resort area.

Blue Ridge Summit is the peak of the Blue Ridge, and this section claims the widest plateau in the world, being a level mountain top a mile wide and a mile and three-quarters long. Western Maryland Railroad (Blue Ridge).
