Formerly known as "Brower," appears as "Unionville" on contemporary maps. Also, is starting point of "Unionville Road."

BROWER Sometimes called Unionville, is a small village in Union township, Berks county, 13 miles south of Reading, the county seat. Goods should be shipped to Douglas, 1 mile north, on the P. & R. R. R. Matilda Jones, postmaster.
