Malone Town

Founded in 1805, the town originally covered most of Franklin County. All but four of the present-day municipalities were formed from the Town of Malone.

Following the war of 1812, Malone grew as a stopping point along the stagecoach route connecting Plattsburgh (Clinton County) and Ogdensburg (St Lawrence County).
