Valley Stream is a neighborhood of detached, single family homes built primarily during the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s. Median lot size is slightly less than 1/2 acre. Median interior living space is approximately 2,300 sq. ft. Homes have 3 to 5 bedrooms and 1 to 3-1/2 baths; most of the homes have garages; about half have full basements.

Valley Stream is generally bounded by West Main Street, Paul Drive, Strawbridge Drive and South Church Street.
