Oakdale is a residential neighborhood of mostly detached singles (some half-duplex/twins) with homes built primarily from the late-19th century (ca. 1893) through the mid-20th century (ca. 1950s). Homes are typically about 1,000 sq. ft. with 2 to 3 bedrooms and 1 to 2 baths. Median lot size is approximately 3/10ths of an acre.

The neighborhood is generally bounded by Marne Highway (Route 541), Washington Street, Rancocas Road, and Broad Street North.
