The Stearns County Administrative Center is located at 705 Courthouse Sq, Saint Cloud MN 56303; phone: 320-656-3600.

The county was created in 1855 and named Stevens County to honor Governor Isaac I. Stevens. The name was subsequently changed to honor Charles Thomas Stearns who was influential in passing the bill that established the county.
