The Vasa Historic District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.

Small rural Swedish agricultural community founded in 1850s under leadership of Rev. Eric Norelius, with 1869 church as focal point. [1]

Properties within the historic district include: Eric Norelius House, ca. 1870; Swedish Homestead, ca. 1870; Swedish Methodist Church, ca. 1879; Vasa Children's Home, ca. 1899; Vasa Lutheren Church Chapel, Ca. 1929; W. F. Peterson Farmstead, ca. 1870.
