Pennsylvania's Smallest Daily Newspaper, the Tyrone Daily Herald

Posted 8/29/2019

Pennsylvania's largest newspaper (the Philadelphia Inquirer) today published an article titled: Pennsylvania’s smallest daily newspaper finds success with happy news, sports rivalries, and hordes of feral cats.

That newspaper would be the Tyrone Daily Herald, whose home is the Borough of Tyrone (population, approximately 5,700) in Blair County Pennsylvania. The newspaper was founded in 1867 and has a daily circulation of 1,700 according to the article.

The newspaper manages to propagate itself with feats such as sending two reporters to a Borough Council meeting generating 4 stories for the next morning's edition.
