Arborlea Apple Pie

Ingredients

  • 6 medium apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar or 2 T. Splenda
  • 1 T. cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • Double crust pie pastry
  • Sprinkles of water and granulated sugar for top crust

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • In a large bowl, combine sugar (or Splenda), cornstarch, and cinnamon.
  • Add thinly sliced apples and toss to coat the apples.
  • Place apples in pastry shell (they will be piled high) and cover with second pastry.
  • Crimp top and bottom crust edges to seal the pie; make several slits with knife on top.
  • Lightly moisten top crust with water and sprinkle a small amount of sugar all over the top.
  • Bake at 400 degrees approximately 50 minutes or until crust is golden brown.
