West Pottsgrove Township was established in 1900. Municipal offices are located at 980 Grosstown Road, Stowe PA 19464. The township is part of the Pottsgrove School District.

The townships 19th century residences are located in the historic community of Stowe (just over the southwest boundary of Pottstown Boro) and are concentrated along Ash Street, Howard Street, Lemon Street, Old Reading Pike, and Race Street. The earliest are row homes along West Vine Street, built circa 1873.
