Kingston, although pleasantly residential in appearance, is a hive of industrial activity. Commercially it relies on Wilkes-Barre, which in turn sends many of its workers to Kingston's cigar factory, to the four silk mills, to the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad shops, and to the three mines in the vicinity.
