West Chester Borough

There are 10 individual properties and two historic districts in West Chester that are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. West Chester was named by the National Trust for Historic Preservation as one of its' "Dozen Distinctive Destinations" for 2006, The program was begun in 2000, and "destinations" are chosen from a nominations which are submitted by preservation organizations, communities, or individuals.
West Chester has developed into a respectable culinary center, with dozens of restaurants and food emporiums of great variety considering the diminutive 1.8 square miles that comprises the borough limits.
The borough is the seat of government for Chester County and is home to West Chester University.
