The Village and the Town of Aurora are served by the East Aurora Union Free School District.

East Aurora is home to the Elbert Hubbard Roycroft Museum.

In 1860 East Aurora contained an academy, 2 churches, and several manufacturing establishments. President Millard Fillmore was, for some years, a resident of East Aurora.
