Plumsted Township municipal offices are located at 121 Evergreen Road, New Egypt NJ 08533; phone: 609-758-2241. Originally a part of Monmouth County, Plumsted was incorporated in March of 1845 from Jackson Township. At the historic core of the Town of Plumsted is the historic village of New Egypt. Settlement of the area dates to the early 1700s when 2 mills were established on Crosswicks Creek ... Kimmons Mills and Snuff Mill. For a time, during the early 20th century, Oakford Lake was a popular summer vacation spot. |
